Israeli War Crimes: Remember the USS Liberty (and Long Live the Lebanese)

In light of Israel's most recent attempt to whitewash the war crimes committed against the Lebanese this past summer, it's instructive to read this letter written by noted journalist and author James Bamford in response to an attack on his credibility in reporting on the unprovoked attack on the USS Liberty by the IAF (Israeli Air Force) during the Six-Day War. In it, he provides many references to the attrocities commited by Israeli forces during that war that came to light in the 1990s.

Again, here we observe a familiar pattern of the Zionist spin machine. No lie is to go unspoken, no matter how outlandish, no matter how blatant, and no matter whether it's in the interest of the Israelis to lie or not. The intent is not to confirm or deny anything definitively, but rather to distort the historical record so thoroughly as to leave a lingering stench of doubt and uncertainty for historians to battle with as they try to unravel the tangled web in later years. Israel can then always point to the controvery and say that there are conflicting viewpoints and maintain a denial of culpability for their actions.

But even within this miasma, one thing is clearly evident: if observed collectively, as a unitary body, the Israeli military is a dishonorable, despicable entity, far removed from the myth of the "purity of arms" doctrine that they are so quick and so forceful to proffer at any accusation of their constant and consistent impropriety (the war in Lebanon is just the latest example).

Every last Zionist should be groveling at the feet of every surviving US servicemember who was onboard the USS Liberty that fateful day. They should prostrate and humble themselves before them for every drop they bled, and for every dollar since that has flowed from their wallet to the Israeli military by way of our self-abusive support for the criminal Israeli venture.

One blaring question remains unanswered: Why does the United States continue to countenance Israeli war crimes, in particular those committed against Americans (like all the American citizens recently murdered in Lebanon)? That answer, if ever revealed, will be truly interesting.

In closing: thank God for the Internet. It's getting harder and harder for Zionists to keep up the all-too effective facade they've been trying to paint over the ugly face of Israeli aggression since that state's unfortunate inception.
