Hilarious...On that note, it is appropriate to point out that extremely polarized 'political analysts' could pass as comedians any day in my book.  The right seems to be winning the war of laughs in my view.

Like mosques are notorious for mysogyny, race-baiting, and hate speech? So Zwahiria, Ahmadinejad, and bin Laden are NOT "Muslims who want to kill Americans"? And you are actually positing that setting a base in SA started bin Laden out, and it's America's fault that nutjobs with a Koran in their pockets want to kill Americans (or white Westeners, it matters not to them)? You need a prescription, and a reality check.

Nothing like swearing on a book that advocates the destruction of the US Constitution. Thats a good thing right?

Well, ok. Then there's nothing like swearing on a Book (The Bible) that says you shouldn't swear oaths.

In many cultures including many middle eastern as well as indian societies, the left hand is considered dirty. The reason for this has to do with personal hygeine reasons (toilet paper is a luxery many people do not have). This might seem shocking to westerners but it is a reality in many places. Therefore handling the Koran with the left hand could be seen as an offensive gesture by some people, although it might not mean much to a born-and-raised american.

My step father spent a lot of time working in saudi arabia as well as dubai and he said the left-hand rule holds true with many of the people he has met there (never shake with your left hand there). I wouldn't say Charles is wrong here, although it might be more of a cultural thing than a religious one as you stated.

I am so worried about the state of America. It's one thing to advocate freedom of speech and religious tolerance. It's another thing to walk  blindly into the welcoming arms of militant Islam. You seem to think that the very mention of muslims that want to end your way of life is either a myth created by the right for monetary purposes, or simply a minority population built up from extremists.

The sad truth is you fight too hard for those who would have you killed without a second thought. When you finally wake up to the fact that you are a target, it may be too late.

The world is a lot more complex than "right" or "left" my friends, and you'll soon discover that more is at state than "racial discrimination". When you wake up to discover that you are dar al-Harb, "realm of war", it may be too late.
